Learning across systems and institutions.

Notre Dame, Indiana

Caden Chuang

I’m Caden, a Computer Science student at the University of Notre Dame. I’m learning how AI systems work by building the infrastructure around them: streaming pipelines, retrieval systems, distributed services, and model-serving paths.

I write because the engineering questions quickly become political and institutional ones. Access to compute shapes who can experiment. Evaluation choices shape what counts as safe. Infrastructure choices decide where responsibility can—and cannot—sit.

This site is my attempt to work across those layers in public, while staying honest about what I am still learning.
